And, I gained 1 channel. The $150 antanea isn't so bad, cuz I got it for free from a friend of mine but, still, I spend 4 hours putting up the pole. Hanging the head. Shopped around from Lowe's, Circuit City and finally Radio Shack to find a proper adapter to go from the coax cable to the head and....I gained one channel. This sucks. But, anyway, I now get channels 8 (NBC), 13 (ABC) and now 3 (CBS).. That's it. Three channels. I don't watch the teleradio, anyway. It's all for my mum. But, now she can watch her 'Price is Right' and 'Wheel of Fortune'. But, does anyone have any tips in how to tune a rooftop unit? (how much tin foil to use? ) It's a relatively new unit (less than 5 years). My mum's friend finally decided to get cable and took the unit down. I'm using a 100ft cable on a 30ft pole - at least 10ft away from the nearest tree....although there is a bush within 5ft.

we used to have one of those blasted things up on our roof. We had cable for as long as I could remember, but since my dad doesn't like heights very much. Eventually he did get up there and throw it off of the roof.
I don't know a thing about them though. They're pretty old school.

Yeah, well, cable TV doesn't come out this far. I'm lucky that I get telephone service (let alone DSL) The cable line ends about 2 miles south of here. Sewer ends at about the same (hence the 'Septic Tank' posts.) City water only came through because of 'Sara Lee' opening a factory a few (7) miles down the road. So, I do with what I've got. **** Anyone got a good goat I could borrow?

Is the antenna instead of satellite access? Umm wait, the antenna is for local channels you would have to get a satellite for what is known to us as cable channels because youre too far in the country for cable access. But with a satellite you can use it for internet and television but it is rather expensive.

The last time I've used a satellite was back in high school (when I was the A/V nerd).
I used to watch the "local" news in Korea every day.
It's been 12 years, so I have no idea how it works, today.
