Ok. Let's say you're driving a semi and come up to a tight intersection with separate 'Left Turn' lanes on all four corners. Now, a Jaguar creeps up to your front (in his 'Left Turn' lane) and sits - while a Mercedes Benz 500E creeps past the white line on your left (in his 'Left Turn' lane) on your left. Both are too far over the lines and you only have a few seconds before the light changes to yellow - followed by a quick red. Now, I ask ya. In a time of panic, which one do you wipe out? I figure I could, at least, carry on a good argument with the snobby Mercedes driver - if he could put down his cell phone. But, I'm 100% certain that I could whip the Jag driver - since they only buy those cars to compensate for the rest of his lack of manhood. In the picture I can either: 1) Pull straight forward until I crunch the front of the Jag so my trailer doesn't roll over the MB. Or: 2) Keep on my current track and miss the Jag, only to roll over the MB.

Take out the Benz because it won't be a head on crash and the Mercedes driver probably has lots of insurance.

By stereotype they're geeky drivers who figure they're too good for a common trucker who does a manual day's labor. Naively believing the road belongs to those who have more expensive cars. However at any moment their status symbol could be squashed like a grape on a moment's notice.
I'd probably make the turn and whoever was on that side is S-O-L
Especially if it was that funky purple as illustrated.

Do not kill the Jag if it is the cool XJ12......thats 12 cylinders of vroom! On the other hand MB's are excellent wheel chocks for your semi

In the end of that scenario, the MB driver did, eventually, back up. BG: I'd think that both drivers would have a bunch of insurance but, the "Jag-Queen" (as we call them) also, probably, has 15 high dollar lawyers on 'speed dial'. Phil: I could roll up on (and have closely done so, in the past) anyone and not even feel it. I'd hate to be me if I did roll up on some Lawyer, or something but, in the end the law says, "Give way to the lesser maneuverable vehicle". I like that line, personally. Jason: The difference here is - the dumb-tookis drivers CHOOSE to "Park/Stop" where they did/do. It was THEIR "choice" to cross the white line and stand there like idiots. Your dad was well off to the side of the 'driving part' of the road. It'd be like me pulling into a parking lot and smashing into a bunch of park cars that are legally parked.....except!......OH! THAT'S RIGHT!!!!! Some people DO park like idiots (in front of loading docks/dropped trailers/"Truck Only" spots.... Dingii (that's Latin plural for 'multiple diguses')*** Don't park in 'far away placed - interior, corner parking spaces near lot exits/entrances', folks. Example: Grey is road - the top Grey is the main road. Brown is the building I have to back up to. Red is your possible care positions. Any of those spots are bad if you're car is the only car in the parking lot. Even in a lot full of cars, the probability of you getting called to move your car, or getting a call involving your car having been 'run over' is 25-45 times higher.

Hey, is that the Penn York railroad lot? No, it must not be because the rest of the cars are only in 1 parking space.
At least the Mercedes driver knew what was good for him.

I voted with the Mercedes because if you turn left you dont have an accident with an oncoming car. So thats the only reason to pick that. Otherwise I would vote on what did happen and the best thing would be that a car moves and let Mahnarchs big truck fit through the intersection.

I have made Sheriffs and Troopers back off from my hulking mass! The majority of the people who don't are the ones who are usually gabbing away on their cell phones.
I've shut down no less than 15 intersections for several lights-worth in my tenure as a 'Driver'.
Once in a while you'll get an attentive driver at the head of the line but, the guy behind him will be an idiot and sit there.
I've gotten to the point now where: I don't care about others in traffic. If I can't move, you're not moving - until you move, so I can move.
It's like a new Doctor freaks when a bloody victim comes into the hospital...and after a while he doesn't think twice about it. He just get's done what needs to be done.

I know what you mean. I have mentioned that my family is in the contracting business. The trucks are not as big as the semi truck and trailer but people should be able to see a F600 dumptruck trying to turn with a trailer and a bulldozer on the trailer and give him sufficient room. But they don't .
