During a recent project to look up something where we could put location pins into a map (and I came up dry) turned me to an aerial view of my house. Like I've said, I'm in the countryside. Here's my 'Hood' You'll notice that the road name labels have been removed and I don't specifically point out my house (which is "almost" centered - just for some generality, for good measure [which one is Doug's??!! he=he]). A large chunk of the land in this picture used to be mine but, it was sold off to the neighbor so he could expand his operations. [He went from 7 cows to 30] What's you neighborhood look like? ((Be sure to remove road labels and such))

I don't feel comfortable posting an aerial image of my neighbourhood. But I am happy to say that I live in Milton Keynes. Cool thing is on Live maps there is a birds eye, rather than aerial veiw of my house. Although IMHO I have a great house, there are some poorer houses nearby

I don't have a nice overhead view of my house but I'd post it. That's a very nice overview Mahnarch.

I figure the ambiguity of the.....world...would be enough for people to fell comfortable posting pics.
You never realize how insignificant you are until you look up your neighborhood and then zoom out to show your city, county, state, country and finally the world.
You really are just a speck in the universe.
....I'm two specks....

I would really love to visit again someday.
Like 4 years. And my friends tell me it hasn't changed. Just the people.

Do you like Oak Ridge better than Mexico, or is that too hard to pick?

Heh! That pic is awful fuzzy.
Try Google Maps?
I can't get that much closer on mine as per my original. Apparently, NASA doesn't find my neighborhood interesting enough to zoom down into.
A note of interest, though. Look up the Eiffel Tower in Google Maps. It'll bring you right down to street level.
Some idiot parked his car right under the south west spire! - in a 'No Parking' zone.

Blastgirl:
Go right ahead with your sky pics but.....if you live to the west of me (on the other side of Lake Michigan) I blame you for the recent "blast" of storms we've had here.
Four big storms in a row. They even shut down US31 because of flooding and 'wash out'.

We had quite a time pushing it out with brooms! Anyway, is your house the group of trees and then to the side and below the two white dots? You said almost centered. I'd have no clue if I drove by the area. I live in a neighborhood where there are dead ends and winding streets.

I'd hate to be the cause of the storms. Sorry Mahnarch if any of this is my doing.

I still blame you, Blastgirl, for the storms!!!! My danged hanging flowers didn't get much rain water on them! Couldn't you have made the rain fall from the East??!! [The rain mostly fell from west to east - and they're hanging on my East facing awning] Now they're all droopy....and kinda 'dead lookin'. ....I hit 'em with the hose, though. So, they should be alright - maybe. *** I have no white dots. ..and, since I trust all the people here. I'm on the south west corner of the "main" road. That entire chunked out 'square' used to be mine [the 'Back 40', as they say]. Now, I'm just the little darkish square on the corner [1 1/14 acre]. I still grow Lilacs, though (which contribute to the majority of the darkness) ....Lilacs are awesome!...and if anyone says otherwise.....

Lilacs smell nice, Mahnarch. I do have GoogleEarth, and when I looked up my house, you could barely see it. Also the pin was pointing to the middle of the street. I didn't know my house was located in the middle of the street.
