I think it is anyway.
In Pennsylvania's most wanted list, there's 12 people posted. Of the 12, 5 of them are Jamaican born. Philadelphia is far and away our biggest crime city. An occasional thing might go down in Pittsburgh but Philly has the lead there for sure.

They all come for a better life. Why steal tvs when you can kill?
I'm not serious people.
The results are similar to us too though that a large portion of Jamaican natives are jailed. I have been mailed info asking if I am willing to hire some prisoners in rehabilitation for a cause.
They probably send that to everybody who runs an industrial business. The government will pay 1/2 their salary for 18 months and if you keep them on now you employ then like the rest of your employees.
I have never participated in that program but some guys in my kind of business have. They see it as cheap labor for at least 18 months. I see it as a really overfull can of worms waiting to open into my life so no thanks.
I have hired some former minor league baseball players from Dominican republics, and Mexico. I have even sponsored their immigration and citizenship. They're hard workers who are thrilled to be in the US.
I'm not interested in hiring x-cons though. Especially when I can never be fully sure about the x part of the term.

Sometimes the land of Opportunity turns into more opportunity to break the law.
One of Classic's former Teammates was killed about a year ago. He had been involved in some bad things. And it's a shame because that guy was a very good player.
Some people appreciate opportunities while others take advantage of them.

One third of all prisoners are Illegal Immigrants, yet, no one says anything about tighter security at the borders....well, no one in Congress does, anyway.
Mexicans, Chinese, Jamaicans, Haitians, Cubans, Russians, Romans, Canadians.....they all run from their native land to escape the repression but, come here and try to make our country into theirs!
No! Not with me as POTUS. You come here, you eat Apple Pie like it's the best dang thing you ever tasted! You WILL swing a baseball bat at a ball (and not someone's head) and like it. You WILL speak english. You MAY have a gun....if you're a citizen.
***
What about 'Non-Violent Drug Offenders'?
Say, a guy goes to prison because it's the third time he's been caught high and with a small bag of weed in his car but, he's never been high at work?
It'd be the same as someone getting a third DUI but never showing up to work drunk.
What someone does on their personal time is their own business. Life isn't work. Work isn't life.
If someone were to get pulled over and arrested for DUI and didn't shoot anyone and went quietly, I'd take them in and give them a chance.
It's the guys who hacked their families to bits with a machete and wore his wife's face as a mask for 30 days before being captured that you have to worry about.
Even a 'Domestic Violence' has some merit (though, after the 3rd offense it doesn't....depending).
Did you know that: If you and your wife get into an argument over,,,,,say,,,,you coming home an hour later than usual because you got tied up at work and she accuses you of cheating and goes into the bedroom while you storm out into the living room and trip over the corner of the coffee table and knock over a lamp, scaring her into thinking you're throwing things around the house and she calls 911, you can be arrested for 'Domestic Violence'?
If you break a pencil in anger, or spit on your spouse during an argument - it's 'DV'.
How would you like to spend the next few years (7 in Michigan law, to be exact) not being able to get a job anywhere because you dropped a pan into the sink full of dishes and broke a plate, or crumpled up a piece of paper in frustration and had a timid wife?
In my little experience with the PD, I've seen and heard of lives being ruined by the tiniest of infractions and the hurt doesn't stop at the court building - because the court doesn't care.
Stab your wife with a knife.. Snap a pencil and leave it on the floor..
"Guilty. DV1."
And, no one will hire them (the pencil snappers).
[Did you know that a vast sum of our prisons are filled with people who were convicted of non-life threatening, non-violent crimes? (mostly drug related ((i.e. had one roach in the ashtray)))...and tax payers are having to flip the bill to keep them in there.] {If I were POTUS I'd order the immediate release of all non-violent offenders and have them put on probation at the most. If someone had a drug charge that involved violence. They'd stay right where they are.}

There's some former inmates at work. None who did time for bad stuff. Murder, armed robbery or rape, no.
Embezzlement and I think DWi and wrecking property.
There's others brought in from other states to work on a job 1 of the guys has no teeth and tatoos all over his fingers I wonder what his story is but if he does his work I don't need to know it.

Oh no doubt the adversity in America compared to what they came from is far less troublesome.
I think that this comes to the idea that the criminal element are more hard working too. In that 5 of the 12 most wanted in Phils state happen to be immigrants.
I dont think Phils observation suggests or is intended to suggest that all immigrants are criminals.

What gets me is how the media panders to the illegals.
Here is how most news reports come across - at least in my area:
"A white man is being hunted in the vicinity of 28th and the Beltline.... A black woman is wanted for questioning in the robbery of.... Two men, one black and one white are accused of....
"A man" walked into the Fifth Third with a gun....."
And, "The Man" turns out to be an illegal Mexican.
They'll tell you the race of everyone, except the illegals, until their apprehended and it leaks out. And the majority of recent crimes being reported are by people named:
Juan Marcedez Enrique Estoban Carlos Antiovara Filipe Martinez and Hector Reyez.
Mostly in the more violent sorts.

Oh yes Mahnarch, I probably was a bit hasty with the ex-con remark.
I don't want bank robbers, rapists and killers like Phil said. Some of the things you mentioned yeah I could overlook those things.

My grand parents were Cuban immagrants . You might like this. A Cuban born teammate told me this once. That Cuba might have to give up their rowing team for the summer Olympics, the reason for that is because all the Cubans that are good rowers are in Florida. I hope it was ok to tell that.

I think it means that some people are appreciative of opportunity others take advantage of it.
The ones that are into selling drugs, and other criminal activity are the ones who figure they can get ahead withing joining the system. Those people never become citizens and they dont care to either because they have it made already. Unless they get arrested or shot.
Until that happens they have it made.

It's exactly the same where I live. The paper never tells the race of the person being arrested for getting into a fight at the local bar or whatever crime, but the name gives it away.

I think the Media today would be in too much trouble if they happened to tell you the race of nationality of the arrested. They can't say "An Irish man was arrested with his Italian accomplice." but I suppose they could say "Two men Arrested in Hold UP." John O'Brien, 29 and Mario Sorrintino, 33, were arrested Thursday for ........" You would be able to draw your own conclusion on ethnicity from there though.
