A new restaurant by the mall caught my attention for a while, especially since I like Logans, which is across the street. A special was on for two dinners, so I went with my mom.
Just like Logans, there were tin buckets of peanuts, and the shavings thrown on the floor. The waitresses wore similar t-shirts, and the decorating was along the same order as well. I asked if the new restaurant was from the same people, and she said, "No, we're better than Logans!"
Well...after sitting down we were handed a basket of small rolls, not as hot out of the oven as they could have been. It wasn't horribly busy, but still, the waitress took her sweet time to come around. The menu didn't have as many options, and the food was more plain and the portions less.
The food was good, but not WOW! You know what I mean? I sort of think Texas Roadhouse is a rip of the better restaurant, and not much in the way of competition. Quite a few steakhouse and BBQ joints have opened up in the area, and I'm just not so sure I'd visit again so soon.

There is a Texas Roadhouse where I live. I like the food they have, but I do agree, the first time I ate there, they didn't have a good selection on the menu. But I usually order the same thing every time. However I do think it's strange that service took forever there when it wasn't busy because they're usually good with service, depending on what you ordered.
Also, one word of advice, don't go there on your birthday. Everyone on staff will come to your table clapping, singing 'happy birthday' real loud, and the person whose having the birthday has to shout "Yeeehaaww!" at the end of the song.

There's a Texas Roadhouse about 20 minutes or so away from me. They have pretty good food. Actually, that's where my girlfriend and I first had dinner together.
I prefer LongHorn to Texas Roadhouse though. Their prime rib is excellent, and so is the T-bone. Rare of course.

Texas Roadhouse has been around for awhile, It's a decent place, I don't think I've ever been to one. Perhaps that's a recommendation for sometime soon.
