I ran about 7 miles today. And I cut junkfood out after last Sunday. I have to push hard to make a good impression as I will be starting with a new team this year.
When you're 33 in the minors you're just about a dinosaur. I've even been referred to as "the Old Warhorse" by media members.
I'd like to squeeze a few more seasons out of this if I can. The thing is I feel great most of the time. I'm 33 but I haven't really lost much. I probably fatigue more during long stretches than I did in my 20s but other than that, I get to the ball I release my throw quickly hardly ever miss the firstbaseman, I still hit well.
But I have to come to camp in shape. These guys traded for me and I have to show them they did not make a mistake.

He is one of the older players in Double A ball. But he hits well and really plays good baseball. Its more that Managers, Coaches and Scouts often give into Media pressure and cut back on older guys each year. But Managers in AA baseball have a conflicting job. They want to build young guys to be a future of the Majors. Yet there's an obligation to try to win games and veterans come into the picture for that. It's a catch Twenty-two.

I hope this move really comes to be a good thing for you Classicblast.
Don't forget the team that traded for you picked you most likely for leadership experience and a proven commodity.
If they're mostly rookies a wily veteran would come in handy to make a squad competitive.
Keep us updated.
PS Since round is a shape, can't I say I'm in shape?

You're not in bad shape either. My brother Thuderbird carries a few extra pounds too and this guy can kick butt and barely needs any sleep. Or much breaktime during work. And he is at least as stocky as you. I think you're a little taller than him though. Not that you have told us how tall you are.

I'm not that tall. I only go about 5'10" LOL....I'm 5'10 and kind of round too, Phil. I suspect that the veteran players like Classic help bring some maturity to a team with their experience. What an older player looses in terms of physical abilities is made up for by seasoning. And that's something that is a good influence around the younger players.

The thing is small city media local sports radio and news papers say crappy things about Classics age but he's really good. His stats are about the same as they were at age 25 and as Pumpkin said having a good character leader is a crucial thing.
Like Phil said lewasite would have been crumbled a long time ago if it werent for his leadership. Infact it might not have gotten off the ground to the same level from day 1. So we know Classics motovational abilities.
PS Phil youre not that round, you look pretty good yet.

So classic is like the Cher, or better yet the Rolling Stones of baseball? Minus the dad/coke snorting.
