I'm so thrilled right now! First Chris Christie wins the governors election last night, and now my Yankees won their 27th World Series Championship, the fifth I've seen in my lifetime. I've been a Yankee fan since I was 6 years old, and after watching for a while Derek Jeter became my favorite player, with Paul O'Neil being a close second. Sorry to all the Phillies fans out there. I'm not a gloating person, but I'll say that yours was last year, and this year was our time. BTW, "Godzilla ate the big green mascot" = best facebook comment of the night. ;D

I think Derek Jeter is the best baseball player I have ever seen weighing in hitting, fielding running and just knowing what to do.
Andy Pettite is a favorite of mine too. In the pennant series he became baseball's all time winner for games ending a series. He added one to that tonight too. I really think he is one of the better pitchers I've ever remembered too but he's often been shadowed by guys like Mike Mussena, Roger Clemons, Davie Cone and Dave Wells earlier in his career. Now it's his time to be seen in the larger light.

It was s good series though. None of the games failed to be action filled.

I'm in the minority in this thread. I was hoping that 2 run homer in the 6th was going to bring out a rally but the Phillies just couldn't bring it on last night.
