Opps, didn't mean the insult.
That was supposed to be 'Louise', or Louis. My common term that others use as 'bud', or 'partner'.
My bad, typo. I call everyone Louis (lew-is), in real life.
The orient is fascinating - especially it's history of dynastys and the fact that they were split in two during the 'Hun' era.
I love their dragon-type artistry and simple, farmer lifestyle but, if one of them gets mowed down by a car, I don't really see anything other than a waste of time in media print.
Two construction workers fell form a scaffold while building a wall for a Walmart near me, yesterday. (both just bruised and non-fatal) When it came on the news I thought to myself, "Why is this newsworthy?"
I cut my finger on a sharp corner of my trailer the other day. I'm not in the news.

While I agree with the part about the news reporting things that don't matter, a drought is a nationwide problem, not just a freak accident. Millions of people are affected, not just a couple. And at that magnitude, I would consider the event newsorthy.

When there's nothing better to talk about...there ya go! Really thought it's tragic when someone is killed but it happens every day and unless we're talking murderer on the loose or some big mass event, it's mostly not news worthy. Tonight on TV there was something about China and how much life improved in the city and they can afford much more now, so I doubt all of China sucks that much, but yes it's got big problems.
