They're saying the top 10 areas that are said to be up and coming for affordible, desireable and yet housing values increasing.
I found the article interesting.
1. Dorchester neighborhood, Boston, Mass 59.6% increase 2. East Garfield neighborhood, Chicago, Illinios 94% increase 3. Civic Center neighborhood, Denver, Col 16,9% increase 4. Pica Union area in Los Angelas once known to be among America's poorest neighborhoods. 298.4% increase 5. Little River district in Miami slangly called 'little Hati' Miami, Fl 244.7% increase 6. Kingsbridge, the Bronx New York, NY 344.7% increase 7.Cashion district Phoenix, Az 162% increase 8. Mission Bay district San Francisco, CA 124.9% increase 9. University Bay neighborhood Seattle, WA 87.9% increase 10.Tiffany neighborhood St. Louis, Mo 130.5% increase
These stats are based on buying and selling prices in a 5 year span. There's no guarentees but that's the recent turn around.
I found it rather interesting. I live in drab and plain Bradford, PA so I doubt we will ever see anything like that happen here. Those cities have some flair like ocean bays, famous rivers and LA is always going to be LA.
We're just 10 miles from Allegany State park, there's a creek bed that runs through the back of my property. I don't think that's going to bring the big bucks. But its a nice place to raise a few kids.

I'm in the house building business, I should start putting up houses in Wahoo, Nebraska I'll be a billionare within 10 years.
I know something about real estate and that took a lot of guts for those investors to buy there 5 years ago in all those places. And if that's not enough there's no guarentee today's buyers are looking at a profit in the future.
My father has always taught us not to buy or build in high risk areas. Some people hit it big that way but it busts people too and you never know which side you will be on so play it safe.

No my philosophy has allways been
"the more high risk the better"
It's a lot more fun to go out in flames than being "conservative" with your buying. Theres this really great plot of land out in arizona that has beautiful scenery that I'm thinkin of buying. The only catch is that the land right next to it is a nuclear power plant, but other than that it's gourgeous

Lava can be a great way to obtain heat. Big savings on electric, gas and other energy bills.

Lava can be a great way to obtain heat. Big savings on electric, gas and other energy bills. Yeah man. That's how we're going to sell these new subdivisions we're going to set up. earlthekevin is going to buy new land in the Wahoo area, and I'm going to bring in my crew and we are going to put up 300 new homes. We're going to convince people that there's natural heat directly regulated by the core of the earth and you will only need an iron basin furnace for your heat. I wonder if that is sellable.

If you put on a suit and talk convincingly, you could sell refridgerators to Eskimoes and guns to the French.

If you put on a suit and talk convincingly, you could sell refridgerators to Eskimoes and guns to the French. That does seem to be true. People buy things if they're sold well. Pet rocks, who ever thought of that? But they sold so what the heck somone had a good tactic.

If you put on a suit and talk convincingly, you could sell refridgerators to Eskimoes and guns to the French. I just thought it was worth mentioning that Eskimoes use refridgerators to keep food thawed instead of out in the constant below zero temperatures where it can become freezer-burnt. That's wicked hahd co-ah. Your point is still valid, though.
