I can do this on guitar! I can also make a laughing sound with a wah-wah pedal, and I can kinda make a motorbike sound, too.

Tom Morello once gave a tutorial on how to get a helicopter sound. I think its on Youtube.
Sound effects are awesome, but I use them very little (like on intros or endings). But that is cool Hedgy!

I got distorted drum sounds on my guitar once. Along with a clock sound and a siren.
I prefer ordinary playing. Sound effects I like for certain parts and pieces of music.

I'll try to do a train!
And I would normally leave sound effects for fills or outros.

Bah. I feel inadequet when it comes to guitar. I've had and been playing guitar for about 10 years, now - all self taught and by ear until I learned to read Tab and sheet music (self taught, too) but, my fingers have been broken so many times over the years that I can't keep a good speed on the fret.
It even takes me some time to type on this keyboard (and a piano keyboard) because my knuckle joints won't co-operate (view my youtube stuff for an example). Especially when it gets cold outside.
As far as literature:
I have everything from Nirvana - easy stuff. Two GnR books - one full, other just riffs. 'Greatest Guitar Intros' book. Popular 60s songs book.
I had a print out of 'Hotel California' that I could do pretty decently, but I think it's long gone. I specialize in 'Don't Cry' by GnR and 'Welcome to the Jungle' but, it's getting tougher to pull off.
Some Aerosmith......
I don't know. It's been awhile since I've touched the thing - even though it's sitting against the wall.....looking at me, right now.
On piano/keyboard I taught myself to play 'Love Comes Walking In' by Van Halen and the intro to "Foolish Games" by Jewel.
I can also plunk out the 'Star Spangled Banner' from memory.
I'm down to a Crate Kit with a 2x2 amp. I figure, if I can't use it properly, then why go full out, y'know?
OH, and I kept my delay pedal, for the intro to 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
"du-d-d-d-d-d. du-d-d-d-d-d-d. duh duh duh duh beow beow beow...b-b-b-b-b....."
OK, now I gotta pick it up.....

Don't worry, I go for creative play than fast play when it comes to music. I have lots of fun too!
I made a nice riff. I'll try to make a tab when I have time.
(off topic) My dad has convinced me to write my series and publish it to an actual book publisher (I think I'll go for Troll or Scholastic) especially because the first chapter takes 4 pages on microsoft word and because it may be more than 200 pages if it were paperback. Good luck to me!

alright, i'm uploading a song I put together. I was working 2 hours on it, but is poor poor quality. For those who will hear it, I suggest to turn the speaker low, there is a lot of unwanted feedback for some reason. Its uploading..... just wait for it. EDIT: There we go!---> www.savefile.com/files/1262423I think I'm gonna re- record it. And call it Daydream
