HAA!!! I loved catching up.
I love heat-shrink butt connectors. Loved the face that Phil made about face tattoo guy. Etc...
I've missed a lot, apparently.
I need a camera......

I'm glad you liked that.
I'm just tired of people taking off for stupid reasons declining hours and then crying about being broke.

My birthday is a holiday....... ..or, at least, it will be. *** What gets me: A company will let go 1,500 people and keep a skeleton crew... ...and that crew who kept their jobs COMPLAIN ABOUT HAVING TO WORK!!! You have a JOB!! Be grateful!! I went to make a delivery tonight and I pushed the buzzer (cuz all factories seem to be locked for some stupid reason, these days). I hit the buzzer. No one came. I looked through the window and watched a guy approach the door. I hit the buzzer again - now that he's in hearing range. The guy just walked right passed the door. Didn't even look at me. I said, "Piss on ya." and left. We've got a truck that goes there in the morning, anyway.

I dont' understand this new wave attitude either. My Family always had the work ethics of Phil and Mahnarch. I guess I was always taught that unless you were disabled you had to make things happen for youself you don't count on benefits, programs and such. That's not to say you can't utalize things that are in place. Its like I had an argument with somebody years ago who landscaped and said 'I work all summer I'm off all winter.' like unemployment is a treat for people who work all summer instead of a bridge to get to the next job.

Yes Phil I like your work ethic too I cant believe some of the reasons people take time off for too.
I had to work my free period today because of that. I didnt have to but I was asked to cover a teacher who had to go home for a stupid reason I even forgot what it was but it was not a reason to leave early. But she went home and I covered 1 period and another teacher covered the last period.
Whe you cover for someone else its usually let then have a study hall. Pretty much do nothing but you give your free period up.
I would have been happier doing it if it was a more important reason for having to leave.

AAAHHH--HEEEHHEEEMMM.....You forgot someone, me thinks. I guess it depends on someone's definition of "disabled". "Oh! I'm in a wheel chair! I can't work!" "What? You're fingers broke?" "Oh! I can't hear!" (Actually, 'WHHAAATT? I CAN'T HEAR!!!!!") "Oh, your eyes broke?" "Oh. I get a pain in my back when I lift more than 20lbs." "So. Filing papers is out for you?" "Oh. I'm allergic to cleaners." "So. You can't drive a cab?" "Oh. I'm too fat to work." "So. You can't pull yourself up to a computer and type in Medical Transcriptions?" "Oh. I can't bend over. It hurts." "But, you just rode a motorcycle for over 100 miles...and danced on the floor afterwards....." "Shut up! I'm disabled."

Please understand that I don't have a problem with seriously ill people taking the day off.
If a dayshifter is really ill and it's not a self brought about hangover but the flu and its bad I'll stay and not complain.
Just don't blow it off because you want a 3 day weekend and mess up my Monday for that.
If your son is going into the service and you want to see him off fine. If your daughter is going to an out of town college and she's going to be home for the weekend and you want Friday to spend more time together fine again.
You don't have to be on a deathbed.
I'm not so wild anymore but I got pretty drunk back in the day especially when I worked on travel crews. But I always got my a$$ out of bed and got to work.

I agree. If it's important family stuff or a serious case of the "can't get off the toilets" I can see.
But, even 'permanently disabled' people can find work. Why can't a dead beat pick up his end of the load?
I was a serious alcoholic back in my early 20's, too. I still drink but, I've slowed down. I've always showed up and did my best.
Phil; you and I are cut from the same cloth. You'll make a perfect VP.

I agree with this vid too Phil. People have gotten softer. Ask Thunderbird about that. He swears on his last dollar that most of his employees who receive a little overtime manage to take about the equal amount of time off figuring that they didn't need those hours now.

I have lost about 35 pounds. And I found out I can live without candy bars and ice cream.

Very nice, Phil. I was never a candy man, myself. Just never really got into it. Hm.
35lbs, though. That's a quarter of me! Well, a little less than a quarter of me. Maybe a leg and a half of me.
Hey! Weren't you supposed to dye your hair blond a few months ago?

That's more than a quarter of me too.
It shows up though and you do look good Phil. And I like your hair that way. A few gray stands are distinguishing.
