haha well thats good to hear... How's baseball working for you? This past year went excellent for me. It started off rough. I got cut in spring training. I looked around for tryouts and figured that I might have to move just to find a team that I could play for. I ended up signing with a team based only about an hour and change from where we are so we didn't move. They worked with me all year too. If my house was more than half way to where we were playing a road game I was allowed to stay at my house and go on my own to the park instead of meeting the team and bussing to the game. I had to drive some distance so that meant heading out earlier and getting home later but that's the trade for not moving. And we reached the finals but lost. All and all it went well though, thanks.

How's this year looking for ya? Sounds like you guys had a decent one last year, good job! The only thing is with a Double A team you never know how different the roster might be in a year. Turn over is unreal.

I know you were talking to Classic and he will answer this Im sure but theres a contract. He landed a 3 year contract but the team can buy it out if they decide to let him go. He signed a 1 year deal last spring when he was a free agent but his team went to the finals and they offered him a 3 year deal right away after the season.
So that means he has 2007, 2008, 2009 assuming that nobody hatchets him. Or he doesnt get an offer from a higher league he has that right to take that offer if it comes through the players union. But otherwise he has 3 seasons where he is but like I said there ways out of that.

Ah, I see, It looks like he has it made in a way. Hopefully he doesnt get out bought because it seems like he has a nice team hes on... Although the roster changes if the team did that good last year im sure the coach must have a decent way to run practices to help everyone out. Good luck!

Kim explained that rather well. I am under contract so that's good because it's secure. I'm 31 years old actually I'll be 32 when this season is under way. So as long as I don't get bumped I'm in ultil the age 34. I still have pretty good range and I hit well by league standards.
The only thing that can happen is what did happen in my last team. The powers that be acquired some young guys that play 3rdbase and they have potential to go higher. I'm obviously not going any higher at this age. And I know that too but I'm not going to quit they're going to have to force me out. And that's going to happen with me kicking and screaming I'm not going away silently.
I realize my dream of reaching Major League baseball is not going to happen now but I'm going to play at any level as long as I possibly can because once the ride is over it's over forever.
And I have had many friends that once they couldn't take their career any further didn't get AA contracts at ages over 30 so I've been very very lucky.
I haven't lost much footspeed with age and that's what seems to be the trick. My friends who have been dropped 1 at a time lost speed before anything else most of them still were hitting all right when they got let go.
So a contract is a good card to have but there are no guarentees at all.

I see, so when do they usually make you leave the league (age wise) and im sorry about your dream of wanting to make it to the major leagues, if it helps any I have had many dreams thats failed! It sounds like you should be fine these next few years by the way you explain it. We'll I gotta go visit my grandparents I'll try and type more later!
