The selfies in the funerals thread made me think of this topic. The subjects are different but they have some of the same base. The root of both is making it about ourselves and not where the roots belong.

Its that sense of entitlement that has youth thinking Obamas health care plan is a good idea, and that he is trying to help less fortunate. Less fortunate are asking to be helped because they believe its easier than making their own way. This country was founded on finding your own way.
Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And the land of OPPORTUNITY. Opportunity doesnt mean a free ride. It means the chance to pursue happiness and pursue your own opportunists that are there although you may have to seek them out and find them they are not given to you.
This country was never founded in doing things for you because you dont feel like it.

Entitlement I have an entitlement story. Last night a worker about 20 said 'there's no way in hell I'm doing that.' I said 'Then there's no way in hell you will finish the day and get paid for it. And once the brass sees my write up there's no way in hell you keep this job. Now how about getting in the bucket and changing some bulbs'
It went calm from there.

That can be the undoing of the world if not the nation. I don't know where these people think things come from. Social Security, insurance, healthcare of anykind if an elaborate pyramid.
Even bank loans auto loans and mortgage loans. They operate on the basis that people pay in and the money is used to provide a service. Obviously we have to have some of this. And it is a workable system as long as someone is paying into it. That means we all have to work for that purpose.
This entitlement generation seems to believe as if these moneys, goods and services just appear. I can't understand that thought process. I was always taught differently.
I grew up in a family business and my father was always fiscally careful. In fact, he taught us to save most things.
I built my deck had some extra wood and used nearly all of it for other things around the house. Most people would have burned the excess but I was trained differently.

I was trained similar. Save what you can and reuse things as long as they can be used again with quality.
