So it was 40 years ago today, January 22, 1973 the Supreme Court made the most horrible decision ever. The most horrible!!
By a 6 to 3 decision the Supreme Court made a law. The court is to interpret law but this case of Roe vs Wade was written by Judge Harry Blackman and upheld by 5 of the remaining 8 judges to legalize abortion.
So if you're not at least 40 years old you didn't technically have the right to be born.
Before his retirement then chief justice Warren Berger changed his view saying 'I didn't know how out of control it was going to get.' Even 'Jane Roe' the puppet in this case has often spoken in favor of life and disfavor of abortion.
THis hits home to me as I have often menitoned when it comes up that my mother had 3 miscarriages when I was a child.
I was born in 1971. My mother had miscarriages in 1974, 1977 and 1978. Even as a kid I wondered if my birth may somehow have damaged my mother's body's ability to reproduce.
In 1980 my brother Alan was born and a little over a year after that my sister. So the miracle of birth is pretty strong in our family because of this.
My mother some 34, 35 and 38 years after these miscarriages still has very sad days at the aproximate birthdays of the lost children. So to tell me or my mother that's not a baby and its tissue or some song and dance about what have we....
In almost all cases abortion is birth control. Its mothers who don't want to bring the birth to term, men who don't want to financially support the child, parents of the couple whos baby it is not wanting their off spring mutually having a child or thinking they're not ready and this is the way out.....
B U L L S H I T!
I am also frequently appalled how the political leaders in favor of abortion calling it a 'choice' or a 'woman's reproductive right'
REALLY?
A choice is 'what shall I wear today? what could I order for lunch? Or to have sex is a choice. Birth rights are not a choice.
Reproductive right? I think the right to reproduction is the right I would argue for here.
If Abortion is not a bad thing, why don't those such political leaders have the guts to call it what it is? Dismembering a human baby and flushing its remains down a sink. That's abortion.
If they're right on this issue, they should say 'I'm pro abortion' They don't though. They say their 'pro choice' or 'defending women's reproductive rights' If they mean to defend abortion why can't they call it that?
