Make sure you dont run out of gas. If your indicator shows 1/4 fuel up. Dont figure youll wait til the next exit do it now.

Yeah, Know your destination for sure. Use cash or traveler's checks. My Grandpa always carried a spare fan belt while traveling in the South even though he was from Arkansas. He didn't want any gas station yokel to cut his when he filled up. If you ever get to Los Angeles you are going to need a shrink! We are road raging gas hogs here! Outta the way!

I can't crow about gas hogging vehicles. I have a F359 and a Mustang.
We have all seen Phil's Chevy 3500, Jersey and Spartan both have Blazer SUVs. I don't think there's a whole lot of fuel efficient vehicles.
Blastgirl's Monte Carlo is pretty good on fuel so is Kimm's little Plymouth.

Mexico City is really crowded too, I get paranoid and start panicking in big crowds. I don't really know why.

I have been told that the road system was once much less efficient than it is now though.
Our Interstates are actually pretty easy navigation these days.

I wish I'd spent less time just driving in the past. I was always a 'gotta get there' driver (sometimes even sleeping in a parking lot for a few hours).
I've been to Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and Orlando and just drove right on through. I now wish I'd stopped and enjoyed cuz I wasn't really in any hurry at those times.
