someone uploaded a video oh her thoughts about a discusting Asian Rant by UCLA Student Alexandra Wallace. the girl who made the rant. the girl in the video wore a tank top that looked 3 sizes to small. she was angry because there was asian's in the library calling on their cell phone to see if their loved one's in japan were okay. she said she never saw that before. I mean does this girl go out? people are on their phone everywhere even in the movie theater's while movies are playing. also cell phone rule is is okay to be broken when there is a emergency considering what is going on in japan. thousands are dead and thousands are missing. I mean hello what kind of dingbat is going to get mad because someone wants to see if their family is alive. then she is mad because they have family members coming over to do laundry. this is a free country so what's wrong with that. does she expect them to stay in dirty clothes. she must be heartless and selfish to make racist's comments like that. I have a friend that is asian and she works and studies incredibly hard. and if your going to complain about someone then complain about them as a person not an entire race. I just can't believe someone would upload that kind of dumb crap on youtube.

I think some of these videos are a hoax. Obviously I hope they are. No doubt there's some validity to things that have a stereotype because that's how a stereo type gets started.
What I am referring to is there's a ton of redneck folk videos. Well they tend to say what the rest of us think backwoodsie southerners would say about President Obama's administration and the society in general.
I grew up in Northern New York State along shores of Lake Ontario. I have lived the majority of my adult life in the south. What I have experienced is very unlike what the non southeastern United States perceives of the southern hill people. Or Rednecks.
There's a few left in the deep woods but sophistication is different now and has been for probably aver fifty years being that Blastgirl, Kimm and dannyboy's parents are nearly 60 and are from a root of education as are most of the southerners I have been in contact with for the last 15 plus years of my life.
I tend to think that the videos of the redneck approach to things is a staged blog to entertain or kind of put the rest of us on a little bit. I think and hope the blog Angel607 is speaking of is that way too.

I have not seen the video but I tend to agree with Classic. Staged for entertainment. My Dad's family is from the Ozarks . I have visited many times and seen no real"redneck" stuff unless it is my cousins and me makin' fun of them for laughs. ;D We all do a lot of farting ;D but Classic knows all to well about that Southern sport.

There are a lot of staged youtube blogs even though there's a few members who friend request nearly everybody. Some of them are only members a few days and they have 4000 friends or some ridiculous amount. You notice that when random people send you a friend request. Then you click because you wonder who they are and notice all that.
Some of them present their videos as a news broadcast too. And they do it well enough that you wonder if its real and no doubt some are but most are not.
Sadly though like angel607 said there is a lot of ignorance out there too.

i never thought of that but it does make sense. she wore a tank top that hardly fit so she could show her stuff off. well that got her lots of views. not only that but many people uploaded her video all over youtube to discuss what she said.

Update! The video was real and I am sad to say it came from Los Angeles California . This woman was a 3rd year student at U.C.L.A . I just read the article in The Los Angeles Times. The University did not take action (1st amendment) but the woman withdrew from U.C.L.A. saying she has gotten death threats etc.

And ok, 1st amendment and all but sometimes good judgment is just lacking.

I have not seen the video, but from the cliff notes version types at the top. I have formed an opinion
Life is a two way street:
Yes, the girl should cut the Asians some slack, after all, it was kinda an emergency deal however....
The Asians, should have moved out of the library, outside, student union, a lobby outside the library or even to a conference room within the library (and close the door), somewhere as to try and not disturb the other users of the library.

We've never had a major earthquake here but there have been tremors a time or 2 that I can remember but not more than the vibration of a train would cause.
They have said there's a major fault line from the great lakes region well beyond the Allegheny region. I've heard that since I was in about 4th grade. Since then I've studied some geological maps. To look at them there's almost no place in North American continent that doesn't have a major fault line within 100 miles unless I'm missing something. So who knows.
What I do know is I will be 40 in June and I have a very prolific memory and I have never seen an earthquake within those boundaries. However the plow is back on my truck and I had to clear a few driveways today. That I know very well.

I live in Missouri, home of the New Madrid Fault, the most dangerous fault line east of the Rocky Mountains.

I live right near "The Ring Of Fire" in the Pacific. They say we are next for 8 mag or greater. The Japan quake scared me. The are way more prepared for quakes than California is yet they got creamed.

i get tired of some groups too i am not saying imagreants arent welcome to this country if that was the way none of use wood be hear because except for native american indians nobody is natural american but what I dont like about some new comers is they want you to learn their language and learn their culture
it doesnt work like that if you come to a place you have to do it their way your free to leave if it doesnt fit your wishes too
everybody else learned english but that girl didnt have the right to assume all asians were inconsiderate and say they dont belong because thats totally wrong

i agree 100 percent with jason. I think english in america is very important. at kmart I have had people ask me questions in spanish. I had no idea what they were saying. one lady gave me a dirty look and left yelling in spanish because I had no idea what she was saying. I don't have time to learn all the langages so if your going to a place that speaks english you should learn it. I can't tell them to hang on while I ask around for someone who speaks your language. but the funniest time is when I was on checkouts and these 3 girls were asking me questions in spanish. I just stood there for awhile with my face frozen because I don't know what to do. they laughed and talked in spanish and went to the service desk I guess they were trying to do returns. but the lady behind them was laughing at me and said omg if you could only see the panic in your face it was so funny.

I know a lot of baseball players like I said. They come in from the Dominican Republics, Mexico, Puerto Rico, various countries in South America, Korea and Japan. The ones who learn English tend to go farther. I played at a rather low level. Unless you could reach higher leagues you weren't going to make your long term living playing ball. Obviously that means its a good living for a few years until you figure out what to do. Example I'm 36 and out of playing ball. So I had to find a new career. At my level you don't make millions so you can float if you're out of work at age 34 as I was. What you can make in AA is enough to live year by year but you can't wait years on employment or retire on what you have saved.
In the majors you could but most of us AA guys don't get to the majors. And if you do, there's major contracts to discuss and you should know the language for that reason too.

I have an elementary level of Spanish (as well as Japanese and German) but I will NOT let anyone in on that fact [except to you guys] because the next thing I know ALL non-English speakers seek me out every time they come in.
I was, at one time, thinking about having a Spanish speaking room mate move in and we could designate certain days where we'd speak English and days for Spanish so we could teach each other but, trying to find a trustworthy person who doesn't speak your native language is pretty tough.
