thats right, like in china, they have elections, but every candidate is from the communist party... who else then me is outradged that col kadhafi ( from lybia ) is using fighter planes and helicopters to crack down the protests? i mean using missiles agains't your own civilians? thats really low. the death toll is already beyound the 300... Yes, but some of the flyers went to Malta and want asylum because they know it's wrong. He made a speech from his bombed out house on TV, going completely insane. It looks like this will be his last year leading the country. Like I said about Egypt, I'll say about Libya. I hope it works out for the best and people can finally be happy.

I think the UN should send troops there ASAP. besides if they fear about oil prices, the sooner kadhafi is out of power, the sooner the threat will be gone. we are dealing with someone who dosn't hesitate to shot his own citizens and is obviously insane.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ntntr3z9e4 I couldn't find the whole speech, and the woman is talking over him here. He's accusing the protesters of being drugged. Yeah, why else would they turn on such a wonderful leader? Gaddafi says he will fight till his last drop of blood, and that may come true. All it takes is the one person who can do it. I'm surprised the Libyans haven't bombed the compound he lives in 1986 style. I don't think help should be sent unless worst comes to worst. Medical volunteers and doctors though, they'll probably need. He's been losing supporters left and right, so I think it's only a matter of time. His behavior isn't endearing him to very many right now.

it would seem the revolution is beneficial to women in egypt : www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/02/24/egypt.women.optimism.harassment/index.htmli think thats excellent and I like what they say on the article. I guess the muslims there will have to redefine their interpretation of the coran, cause women are taking their rightfull place :-) if religion keeps trying to put women down, religion might not survive...

It's not the religion that's bad for women, it's the backwards attitude they never wanted to change for centuries because their too damn stubborn. Even among fundamental Christians women have been viewed as second class and not as important. Humans in general regardless of beliefs seem to be that way in lots of different societies. It's wrong and complete bullcrap, but just saying. Still, I hope the women in such countries gain a hell of lot more freedom and everyone can think in a more modern way.

you have a good point there, religion is often just an excuse.
even as a man I think its totally unfair women be treated like second class citizens. I was happy and proud to see all those unveiled women manifest in egypt, tunesia, and even iran.
women are bieutifull, why spoil it by weiling them? :-)

I do not like the way men in some societies treat women, especially in middle eastern countries and some religions. I do not believe in that bullcrap of 'The man is the bread winner, and the woman's job is to cook, clean, take care of the children, and serve her man.' This is the 21st century, and everyone is created equal, and should not be treated badly because of their gender, race, sexual preferance, ect, and whoever still thinks like that needs a smack upside their head.
