Yeah it's a bummer when sites get hacked, usually after that it's never the same again as people just lose interest thinking there'll be a second time.

I think we remember what happened here a while back.
I don't know what else to say other than what I have already.
It comes down to this. A guy is in a couple forums this guy being im_an_alien. He makes some friends through the forums and decides to make his own forum.
A few members from sodarace, lewasite and probably 3 or 4 other sites im_an_alien is active with join. Now a member of a site that has never seen lewasite meets maybe Jersey Life.
They become site friends and perhaps because of Jersey Life that person joins Lewasite and likes it. Jersey Life might also join the site that person knew im_an_alien from. Due to the ingenuity's of im_an_alien and TeamMage 2 more forums get new members who meet through Team mage.
And there's got to be some pride in working hard on making a site that had a variety of discussion that members want to stop in everyday or at least most days and post 1 or several messages.
And it's all his doing.
Then some jerk gets a wild hair up his nose or gets mad for something and destroys it just to be spiteful.
And this person called him/herself unknown.
There is no justification in destroying a forum people are enjoying. Even if you are the starter of the forum. Do what Lewa did was put Sizzlepop in charge. When Sizzlepop decided to become inactive he gave the admin rights to Classicblast.
That's the classy way. People are enjoying the forum. Sizzlepop had become tired of participating so he left the forum in a position where it could continue with a new admin and that was fine.
I don't know if the person who hacked Team mage could have gotten into the admin unless it was a site admin that double crossed in_an_alien.
Alien I just can't tell you how sorry I am that this happened. But rebuild. I will become a member and so will my son.
I doubt I could be an everydayer but maybe I can. But I'd be on enough to be visible and so would Jason.

I would say the same thing Phil said just about for word.
Why would anybody destroy a site and how could you have that much malice towards somebody that you probably have never met anyway?
Thats just terrible. Sorry im_an_alien. All your work for a couple years damaged for no reason but to be spiteful.
I forgot to ask. I cant get my account back or can I?

This is just mean and uncalled for. I wish I had the words and I know everybody has already discussed it but I just cant believe it at all. Im sickly sad about TeamMage being hacked.
But like Phil said, lewasite is proof that sites can reform and grow back to their glory. That can happen at TeamMage too.

The only way to not give in is to rebuild.
It looks like a big job but remember the forum didn't build itself and it took a while to get it to that point. That's all I can say is 1 brick at a time just like we did here.

I'm sorry about the site being hacked.
I am quite positive that this is fixable no matter how hard it looks.
Like Phil said it takes a while to build a site up so don't expect it to grow back overnight. But it can be regrown.

I usually can't post much on the weekend and I got doubled today but I'll spend the next couple days getting abreast of whats going on with this.
But as I promised I will join and my son will too. As much as his mother will let him have computer time.

You have to PM im_an_alian that you want on and what your screen name should be and he will create a Profile for you and PM it to you here at Lewasite. That's how he can secure that there's no hack job anytime soon. |
