For Black Friday week (via Walmart.com) I bought myself a 32 inch flat screen RCA LCD televiewer. Originally, I wanted to get a splitter and cable to make a clone to my PC for....cloning...I guess. I went to Best Buy, looking for a splitter and cable but, found out they didn't have a splitter; only a Tritton brand USB to VGA external video card. Comes with a CD driver for easy install. Takes 3 minutes. Turns out - instead of getting a clone, I got a faux second video card. I can play a video, internets, Solitaire, etc on my TV while I'm doing other stuff on my regular PC monitor... In fact, I've got Hulu running on my TV while I'm writing this on my PC. It's awesome. Easy. And, I back this product. I got Lewa on my PC and Hulu on my TV - at the same time!!! ....I'm catching up on Flash Forward (via ImDb).

That's so cool. I never knew exactly how that worked. Hulu is going to be a pay site by the way, so I hear. That blows. As long as they don't f*ck up YouTube I'll be happy.

Demona, are they thinking of making YouTube a pay site? That would suck but it would reduce trolls.

I'm ready to get that kind of a set up. I didn't know it was a three minute installation though. That's great.

Wal*Fart for the TV. Best Buy for the exceptional upgrade. Sorry, Beangirl.... ...sorry... *sobs*Though, I did get it at the BF price! And kept Beangirl in a job!!!! Classic: I not only bought "some" quality... I bought a "lot" of quality! (I would've went with 36" of TV but, my entertainment center is only so big.... Alan: I lied. It actually took less than 2 minutes. I don't like to give non-sponsored companies too much credit. If you need any help with this set up, just let me know. [In reality, if you need my help with this easy to do process...... I don't have a PhD worthy of the effort! ]

What I can't get over is computers were about $1200 when I got the desktop for the house about 2001. That makes me at that time 30 years old. Then I was too cheap to go to powerlink I got the dial up and I was ok with it. My wife hated the dial up and tried to convince me we needed different from day 1. I admit I was wrong.
Well I saw laptops at that time for over $1500 and never gave it a thought.
About 2006 my wife finally convinced me to switch the house to powerlink. I did. I wasn't sold on it but once we had that system I realized how much better it works. People had told me and I believed them but this is a seeing is believing situation.
Then I bought a laptop as the price shrunk to $750 and I bouthg a desktop for $600 that is newer and better than the 1 I've had for about 1/2 the price. I set the new *at that time new* computer upstairs and kept the original desktop where it is but replaced the feed with powerlink.
Don't tell my wife but I drilled a small hole in the floor and ran the splitter that way instead of going through the siding of the house. Its covered nicely by carpet you can't tell. lol
This was 1 of those jobs I would do just as I get up in the afternoon before she gets home that way there's no questions about how I do it just in the end it's done and no questions asked.
The value of the link system is obvious with YouTube I cant imagine uploading blogs with dial up. The reason I know about that is I've uploaded some on my laptop leaving it in the truck while I'm at work and it can take hours and hours because the dial up doesn't work as fast and there have been timed I had to do it over because the battery ran out before the upload was complete. Or the signal was lost. That dial pad is the same as a cell phone.
Here at home I can use the wireless feature of the laptop and it loggs on from here. At the work lot the rooter doesn't work becaue its not close enough to a powerlink system.
What I can't believe his how good the new computers have gotten in compared to the old ones and how much the price has lowered.

How do you hide a hole drilled in the floor? I'm sure she knows and has chosen not to pick this battle. Wouldn't you step on the cable under the rug?

Take your time. *wink* Blastgirl, the carpet comes to the end of the floor there's tackedges that hold it up, if you lift just right it comes off, then I stuck the cable carefully against the wall cutting a small trench kind of in the padding that goes below the carpet right along the wall and then restuck the carpet to the tacks. It would be hard to just find it that way without lifting the rug.

PHIL! This is Mrs. Phil (I seem to have forgotten my own name, I'm so mad!), are you saying I can't shovel snow very quickly?!
You're sleeping on the couch, Buster!
I'll be staying at Mahnarch's house for longer! ...besides, his house is bigger...... - and he has a Lamborghini in the garage.
You know I like Lambos! (and roses).
You better buy one - and post about it on YouTube! (pay cash for it, though. Financing would be a rip-off)

If you can't get a Lambo perhaps you can get a hold of an old Thunderbird?
As your wife, you know I like watching burn outs - via Youtube......

I'd take a Ford GT over any of those but they're all out of my price range.
