Conspiracy theorists.....It seems like a lot of the same people who always talk about how stupid W. is/was are the same ones who claim he somehow orchestrated the whole 9/11 attacks. Hmmm....
I remember when Jesse was wrestling back in Minnesota before his WWE days. He was supposed to be from sunny southern California....Actually south Minneapolis, but SoCal made him the anti-Minnesotan character.
He had a commercial on tv for a local liqour store. He'd say "Listen up Turkey Town; get yourselves down to Lake Street liquors" or whatever the store was called. He was a master at baiting people in the heel role, especially Minnesotans. LOL
He was supposed to be he west part of the "East-West Connection" with Adrian Adonis who was billed to be from NYC at that time.
I loved his show on the local sports talk radio back in 1997-98. That was just before he had to get off during his governor run. He'd always tell it like it was. ;D

Those are good points. what kind of a 'dummy' can mastermind that and convince the majority of the world that it was real? It's 1 thing that I always will remember where I was when it happened. Or at least where I was when I heard the news.

Same thing with the JFK assassination....
"Where were you?"
I was eating a doughnut at the local cafe when I heard the news.

Im sure you mean 9 11 Mahnarch I dont think you were born for Kennedy.
Conspiracy accusations are nothing new. Thats what I was saying when I started this topic even civil war times have some doubt as to what really triggered the war. That will always be that some people need to have their suspicious concept that is way out there. Others will just need the attention so theyll make something up. Either way the conspiracy will always be a presented.

I think there's been more government conspiracies designed to make you feel better about why your taxes were raised or what the tax dollars are going towards than used as an excuse to have war.

JFK....I remember getting out of school early that day....and being upset because the Mighty Mouse cartoons weren't on tv on Saturday due to the coverage of the tragedy.....Well, a 6 year old has their priorities.

Oh wow. This is like a deja vu. I was home from school 1st grade because of a snow day and wanted to watch my cartoons and instead Hubert Humphrey's funeral was on tv. I didn't even know he was a past vice president I just wondered what made this guy so important his funeral made it worth skipping cartoons. I actually thought I'd rather be in school that it wasn't even worth the snow day.

Not only was Hubert a Vice President, he also ran against Richard Nixon and George Wallace in 1968. I think he was hindered by his connection to President Lyndon Johnson and the Vietnam war.
He came darn close to edging out Nixon in a close election that was made tighter by Wallace carrying the electoral votes of 5 southern states.
No conspiracy was in play that I remember. LOL Just good old fashioned smash mouth politics.

I can remember the day after September 11, there were some kids in my school complaining that they missed TRL (Total Request Live, a show that used to be on MTV) because MTV was only showing news coverage of what had happened. How tragic to miss TRL!

How tragic to miss TRL! It just goes to show where your priorities are when you're a teenager. Had I been in the 14 neighborhood at that time I'd be angry that it caused cancellation of a game. In fact I was about 14 when the 1989 world series was postponed due to an earthquake in San Francisco. The teams involved were the Giants and the Athletics. Since Oakland and San Francisco are right next to eachother the earthquake effected both place. So I was kind of miffed that there was a delay in a good series. I was not thinking how terrible to have the earthquake I was more onto get these teams to a neutral location and the broadcasters get there and play it out. The things that are important when you're a kid.

I remember the earthquake.
I think you're right too. Most kids understand what happened but don't feel the true impact of it. My kids are well informed believe me but still when you have to go to something important they still hope you can wrap it up on time for them to watch their favorite shows or have enough daytime left to go outside and play.
No matter how much you teach the kids, and its important to give them as much reality of it as you can, it only sinks in so much when they're that age.
If its something as tragic as 9/11/01 it might be good for them to do something routine anyway.
I grew up with 'duck and cover' and the constant mention of a possible 3rd world war and the possible communist take over.
