When I was younger I always knew I was better off just telling what happened and getting whatever consequences or talking to over with. Most times it didn't turn out half as bad as I expected because I was honest and upfront it. Hiding things tends to make things worse. A good Calvin and Hobbes strip mini-series detailed how Calvin broke his dad's binoculars, which he had been told to be extremely careful with. Initially, Hobbes suggested buying new ones, but they found out how expensive they can be. Then he suggested fixing them, but that was out because they were dust. Then So, the only thing to do about it was for Calvin to tell his dad. But, he was apprehensive because he was sure his dad would "blow every capillary in his body", and he winds up under so much tension it just bursts out of him at dinner. While his dad initially yelled at Calvin and told him he has no respect for other peoples property, how could he be so careless, the binoculars were brand new, and so on things changed. Calvin, being genuinely sorry about what he did, and being honest with his father about what happened, caused his dad to take a step back and stop yelling. In the next strip, Calvin is hugging his dad while wailing about how sorry he was about what he did, while his dad says he's sorry for yelling at him the way he did. Dad looks at Calvin and says besides, it was only a pair of binoculars. When Calvin asks what he means, his dad says it might be a bigger deal in 10 years when Calvin is wrecking his car instead of binoculars. The mini-series ended with Calvin's dad buying him his own pair of little binoculars, saying if he's going to break binoculars, he might as well break his own. So, you never know how things might turn out. It's always better to be honest. I managed to find the strip series. lesinge.org/ch/index.php?search=1&showfrom=ch880516

I think Alan and Jason are lucky Phil didn't get furious. He mentioned it in a video I remember him talking about this.

Jason I think it was pretty mean of your Uncle to tell you he was going to blame the whole thing on you. ;D

How funny to find this discussion again. Yeah the trouble your nephew might get you into and cause your brother to get mad at you.
