I don't think it's been so much corrupted as it's role has changed. The word (or acronym, whatever you want to call it) "lol" is mainly used in instant messaging conversations and text messages. While these are text-based forms of communication, they follow the patterns of vebal speech more closely than those of conventional writing; often using abbreviations, sentence structures, and grammar that mirror those of speech. Because of this, the IM lexicon gains much of the malleability of verbal language, or it's ability to change over time. Taking this into consideration, I think what has happened is that "lol" has evolved from it's roots as an acronym depicting an action into something more like "haha" or "heh," which are interjections that indicate amusement or laughter. It's a rather subtle change of meaning, but it allows the word "lol" to be used in such a context. *high-five* And if Forum god is more powerful than Moderator, why can't I edit any posts? Jest wondering. Also, who "upgraded" me? _glitch_

I think Classicblast is the only person who can upgrade you. That's a good question if you can't edit posts I shall ask him why that is.
You are the 2nd Gmod to say you can't edit so I sent a pm to Classic and to Blastgirl.

The funny thing is, Phil, that you're an admin. You should be able to fix this yourself.

GMods can't edit posts. They can move, lock, sticky, and bump topics though. EDIT: Actually, we can now
