... heck? I just went into my PM inbox to send Darktrooper a PM.
Now I have no PMs.
What the heck is going on here?
_glitch_
EDIT: And now I'm only a Forum God? Where'd my Moderator status go? It was just here a second ago...
Something tells me I'm being hacked.

You do realise that "Forum God" is a moderator status, right?
If you've just been upgraded from a local mod to a global mod, it was awfully nice of the numerous admins to tell us what's going on. Also, gmods don't have very many powers any more. It's like a token role, remnants of the days when Sizzle was still around and there weren't eleven admins.

Forum God is higher than moderator like Skier said.
I dont think that you could be hacked too easily though. But I will see whats going on.

I'm glad to see _glitch_ back.
There was a spammer posting some porn pictures but he has been dealt with.

In any case I asked and _glitch's status has not changed in "at least a year."
And I asked both Blastgirl and she called Classic to confirm.

Boy, I sure feel safe knowing the Striker is keeping a vigilant eye. He's just waiting to pounce all over that potential spam for us.

Is lol as an acronym that corrupted nowadays so as to have someone say "laughing out loud that made me laugh"? Jesus Christ.

I don't think it's been so much corrupted as it's role has changed. The word (or acronym, whatever you want to call it) "lol" is mainly used in instant messaging conversations and text messages. While these are text-based forms of communication, they follow the patterns of vebal speech more closely than those of conventional writing; often using abbreviations, sentence structures, and grammar that mirror those of speech. Because of this, the IM lexicon gains much of the malleability of verbal language, or it's ability to change over time.
Taking this into consideration, I think what has happened is that "lol" has evolved from it's roots as an acronym depicting an action into something more like "haha" or "heh," which are interjections that indicate amusement or laughter. It's a rather subtle change of meaning, but it allows the word "lol" to be used in such a context.

I never really understood any of the computer slang until recently. In fact, there's still a lot of it is new to me.
Sometime ago on this site 1337 to mean cool, I never heard of that before. I guess that's making "Leet" with numbers as much as possible but "Leet" was never a word to mean cool that I knew.
Wicked, Awesome, Excellent, Radical, (I can think of a few others) but I never heard of Leet or 1337 until this site.
I am thirty-one years old but I didn't know that was too far behind those times.
