I'm rather annoyed by the making of this movie. There have been a handfull of presidents who were assasinated by a shooter but I don't think anybody's character has been assasinated like Bush.
If you don't approve of things Bush has done that's fine. I can see Bush policy not necessarily being the best for any and all people.
But the film media has just gone after this guy for such Bull Crap. They have it almost so that a bottlecap not fitting a bottle coming back to something George Bush did.
I am strongly of the opinion that Bush is a strong and decisive president. I am a believer that leadership may be unpopular but a leader needs to lead and that's exactly what this man has done as President.
Once the September 11 attacks happened I know that was very upsetting to us all. Some of us at this forum were in a different walk of life though. Some of you were in grade school, early high school maybe younger than that.
Theres others who were adults. Me for example. I was 30 years old at the time of the attacks. No doubt your worries vary a little. Right away a guy in my situation would wonder how this is going to impact my family and how can I protect my wife and children from such a thing. I guess the reality is I can't.
So how can acts of terror be kept under control? With strong leadership.
Between 1993 and 2001 we had very weak leadership. There were several acts of terror that received little if any attention, the USS Cole for example.
The terror networks realized that then President Bill Clinton was a weak president military issues. The US media also pushed the idea that George W. Bush is some kind of a bafoon who is a complete dummy.
That impression is passed onto the terror networks and then they figure that they can place an attack on the United States.
They have found out that is not the case. At present the US has a very strong president and if you attempt acts of terror your ass is grass.
And yes some other terrorists who were not related to September 11 also became a target of the war on terror.
Now this movie comes out called W. Its coming out on October 17 this Friday. It's designed for no other reason than to show Americans and the world how stupid the President is. And to push the ajenda of getting undecided voters to vote for the Democrat because the war will be over that way.
Also this is designed to assasinate his character as much as possible. There's a scene where Laura is laying on the bed and he's on the toilet and he says 'who remembers a son of a President?' Laura says 'John Quincy Adams.' Then W says 'well that was about 300 years ago or something' An exaggerated error to make his image as dumb as possible.
Somewhere he says 'history? we're all going to be dead by then'
And there's a scene where Dick Cheney is saying something about the war and W says somethign like 'why do you bring things like that up during lunch?'
All right. He has mis said some words. His speach delivery is less crisp than most Presidents but he never said things like that, and it's about nothing else than to belittle his image and other conservative politicians.
I am aware that the Bush administration has not been without errors. But most 'US Americans' need to be remineded how lucky we have been to have our everday life go on as always without the fear of something similar to 9/11 happening again.
