Wow a private jet ride from Mahnarch.
Sometimes I wish my car could fly.

OH, I H-double A-T-E the O'Hare terminal.
If you get into the terminal veil at a certain time, ATC will completely forget about you! Don't even bother to ask for 'Flight Following' - you're up there alone.
***
In a C-172 I could probably make Mexico City in 18 hours +/-. But, crossing the border (Customs, and all) would be an additional 4-5 hours (even though I don't wear a towel on my head).
***
I'll probably be going up, again, next weekend. I hope I'll get to take a camera with me.
See, right now, it's either:
1) Buy a camera and don't fly. or 2) Fly and don't buy a camera.
But, then again, I haven't actually priced 'still digital cameras', lately. Have the prices dropped?

Is there anybody who has a camera you can borrow if you don't have one of your own that works? It would almost be a shame to go flying and not have any pictures to take.

Hmmmm,,,,"borrow"... Didn't think of that. ....actually, I don't really know anyone who has one, either. OHH!! I can buy one of them 'disposable' cameras and scan it in - cuz I got a scanner....for scannin'. Yea, that'll scan.....err, work!

But, don't think I'm going to let you be the navigator, again!
I can only handle so many trips to Disneyland....
You can be the Radio-man.

lol! well, the week went so well. there were 146 young people there and we were all there to try and help prevent child expoitation online. so it was 146 of the nicest, kindest people from around the globe! so we all got on so well, I miss them all so much!
we had lectures from people from government, education, industry (microsoft) and loads more then we gave our oppinions and made a presentation afterwards.
we actually made board for us all to keep in touch with each other administrated by your truely XD
you guys should check out iyac.net and virtualglobaltaskforce.com

What are ways to safeguard without being too over paranoid?

I'm with Phil. If you keep your kids too sheltered it makes them that much more of a target, later in life.
My ex-girlfriend, from back in high school's, mom didn't see her first black person until she was 14 - and she couldn't stop staring at him.
Awkward - as she recounted.
There are things in life - to a point - that children WILL have to face, eventually (even though I am a HUGE believer in the 'Sanctity of Childhood Innocence' - which is why I oppose 'openly gay expressionism' [particularly in San Francisco - Assless Chaps at festivals and what-not...])
