There has been much bitterness and confusion in the last few days. The purpose of this thread is to shine light on everything that's happened. I will not cite my sources; only know that I trust them.
All of lewasite's boards (that were able to be seen by the public) were deleted.
Around August or September of 2005, some members decided to form a secret organization that I'll refer to as the "n00b squad." They had a secret forum, titled the "anti-eccentric n00b forum." The members included Smashdood, cubed05, TMTD, skier1, bro_c, and TC23. The n00b squad initially focused on random stuff related to lewasite, such as posting about LS members they didn't like. Later, they tried to get the members they didn't like banned from lewasite. I won't comment on what I think of the n00b squad because something of this nature must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis; you can't just take an absolute side and call it done.
Eventually on the ant-eccentric n00b forum, a board was made titled "[LS] Downfall." It detailed how the n00b squad (or some members of it, at least) would facilitate the bannings of several members and cause lewasite's "downfall." Apparently "downfall" was another word for "deletion."
Very recently, cubed05, TMTD, and bro_c were in an Xfire chat. bro_c requested cubed05's password so he could use cubed05's account. cubed05, after having a bad day, made the mistake of giving away his password.
Almost immediately afterwards, lewasite's boards were deleted. This is important: TMTD did not erase lewasite's history. Bro_c did. Bro_c was the one who used cubed05's account to erase the boards. TMTD watched as bro_c did this. To be honest, I don't think TMTD could have done anything at this point; cubed05's account was already logged in, and I doubt TMTD knew the password (he was invited to the chat after the password was given away). cubed05 and TMTD were in the chat room while the rest of the boards were deleted.
Later, TC23 logged on. He posted a topic, which was deleted by bro_c within minutes. bro_c also banned TC23 for making the topic. bro_c also banned some people that he thought TC23 sent it to. Here is what TC23 posted:
As much as Classic and I might have our differences, none of you should be blaming this on him. TMTD and dylan deliberately sabotaged LS and framed Classic.
This is a grave matter. For the past few months cubed05, dylan, TMTD, smashdood, skier1, and I have had somewhat of a "coalition" formed to police lewasite, eliminating or covertly flaming everyone we didn't approve of. I never knew it would come to this, though. I know not of their methods to destroy the forum, nor do I care to learn.
Do what you will, but know that Classic had nothing to do with this.
That was what had happened in TC23's mind. It wasn't quite the whole story, though. First of all, TMTD and bro_c (to my knowledge) did not frame Classicblast. That was just something that sprang from a rumor, and was not a result of anything bro_c or TMTD said. I can't blame TC23 for blaming TMTD and bro_c for the forum deletions, though; TMTD claimed responsibility for the board deletions, along with bro_c, in the anti-eccentric n00b forum.
TC23 had good intentions with his topic. I wish bro_c had not deleted it; by deleting it and banning TC23, bro_c really gave the appearance of trying not to let the truth get out.
Before deleting it, bro_c took a screenshot of TC23's topic, and sent it to the rest of the n00b squad. The other n00b squad members didn't like TC23's message; I suppose this is because it revealed the identities of the n00b squad members.
The first message (TC23's topic) was too harsh (no one framed Classicblast, and bro_c was the only one responsible for the deletions). In response to this, TMTD posted a topic stating that he was solely responsible for the board deletions. TMTD wasn't sure of what would be accusationed, and thought that it would be easiest (and best) to take the blame from anyone else who could possible by blamed. Before posting the thread, TMTD tried to work out a deal with TC23 that related to TMTD taking the blame. Apparently the deal didn't work out.
TMTD's act reveals to me that he put the reputations of others before his. If from no one else, TMTD still has my respect. He had nothing to gain from his topic, and everything to lose. It was a "noble lie", if you understand.
I thought that presenting the truth would be the best way to solve the problem. I asked TMTD if he would say it, and he declined. For what reason, I don't know, and I don't need to.
I can't blame others for criticizing TMTD. He openly took the blame. The insults, however, were uncalled for. Those who called TMTD a dickhole now know that he is not. Those who agreed that it wasn't possible for him to have a soul now know that they should have given him the respect he deserved. At the very least, they should feel this way.
In this time, pretty much everyone has made a mistake or two. I recommend that we don't forget our mistakes; rather, we should remember them, learn from them, and be more awesome in the future because of them. After reading this post, the only one who could legitimately be criticized, in my opinion, is bro_c.
Which brings me to a reason why bro_c deleted the boards. Simply put, I don't know. I'm not sure if anyone does. I can speculate, though. If you ask me, bro_c was frustrated or angry with the way lewasite was, and he took out his anger/frustration by deleting the boards. I'm not at all saying this is true; it's only my best guess.
These little issues that have plagued lewasite since September aren't coming back. The n00b squad is over. In that regard, lewasite is experiencing a new beginning. Anyone who has made a bad mistake in this time has learned from it.
If I've gotten anything wrong, then please tell me. What you've seen above is the most logical sequence of events, taken from what's been told to me.
